JABBIC – Judge A Book By Its Cover

The Housemaid

The Housemaid

When you’re looking at a book cover… and it’s looking back at you, it’s a bit shocking. This cover definitely caught our attention. Perhaps that eye belongs to the author, silently threatening: “You better buy this book. I know where you shop.”

Unlikely. We assume it’s the housemaid of the title. What’s she looking at? There’s nothing to suggest what she sees, but the line above—“From behind closed doors, she sees everything”—does just enough to hook us. Between the bold, generic title, the eyeball keyhole, and that mysterious tagline, we’re intrigued. Not much detail, but enough to make us want to peep inside ourselves.

Based on the Cover, We Think This Book Is About…
A maid in a mansion discovers a sinister plot of some sort. She gains knowledge to disrupt a plot by political operatives, and is drawn into a spy network.

  1. A seemingly obedient housemaid tends to the upscale Winchester household, quietly enduring their strange behavior—until curiosity tempts her into crossing a line. But beneath her quiet surface lies a hidden past, and when things take a dark turn, it’s clear the Winchesters don’t realize just who they’ve let into their home.
