JABBIC King of Envy Book Review

We dig the title King of Envy—it has a punchy, mysterious vibe that makes us lean in. Unfortunately, the cover art itself makes us lean right back out. At first glance, we thought it was an exploding green hand grenade. On closer inspection, it’s more like an ornate perfume bottle shattering into pieces… or is it? Honestly, we still aren’t sure.

If you squint, you might spot some faint Asian-style graphics in the background, but they’re more whisper than shout. And that’s kind of the issue. The entire design feels soft, muted, and oddly fragile for something with such an aggressive title.

To add to our dismay, this is Book 5 in the Kings of Sin series. Is it us, or does every bestseller these days have to be part of a never-ending series? We’re guessing Book 6 and 7 are already queued up.

All in all, aside from the title, this cover doesn’t make us envious of anyone who has to review it.

JABBIC Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)

What We Think The Book is About
King of Envy sounds like it’s about a ruthless billionaire—maybe a perfume tycoon?—who’s used to getting everything he wants… except the one woman who doesn’t fall for his cologne-scented charm. She’s from a rival family, naturally. There will be boardrooms, bedrooms, and lots of smoldering glares across expensive glass conference tables.
