Well, well, well, “Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village” by Maureen Johnson and Jay Cooper —a title that combines my two favorite things: a good murder mystery and the cozy charm of an English village. Just look at this cover! Red, black, and white, it screams danger while whispering ‘come for tea.’ The little illustration with a pair of boots sticking out from the side of a building? Classic. As if I, Blade Thompson, couldn’t handle myself in a setting like this. I’ve watched enough true crime and survival shows to know my way around a murder plot. Quaint village or not, I’m confident I could outwit any fiendish plotters lurking behind lace curtains. Bring it on, I say!
Rating: ★★★★☆
Summary: A witty and charming cover that invites you into a perilous yet picturesque English village. Who’s afraid? Not Blade Thompson.
