Ride the Amazon Wave

Reviewed by Tomer Rabinovich

‘Ride the Amazon Wave’ by Tomer Rabinovich. Clearly, the world needs more people selling cat-themed socks and Bluetooth toothbrushes. The cover’s got this silhouette of a surfer riding a giant wave, presumably through an ocean of customer returns and two-star reviews.

And look at that tagline: “The Pro Seller’s Guide to Private Label Success.” As if slapping your logo on some generic junk and trying to sell it for double the price is an art form. This book might as well come with a set of rose-colored glasses because you’re going to need them to get through the tidal wave of clichés and obvious advice.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ Summary: “Ride the Amazon Wave” wants to be your guide to becoming the next Bezos by selling private-label products. The cover suggests a thrilling journey, but if you’ve ever surfed the choppy waters of online retail, you’ll know it’s more wipeouts than epic rides.
