“Smoke Bitten” by Patricia Briggs. Now this cover gives me the chills, but not the kind you’d expect from a thriller. Our heroine here looks like she’s fresh out of a mystical tattoo parlor and straight into a fire-breathing dragon’s lair. Those flaming wounds on her neck? I could whip up a special herbal ointment that would put those out faster than you can say ‘abracadabra!’ This book seems like a magical rollercoaster, and I’m confident I could lend a healing hand if needed. Who needs a fire extinguisher when you’ve got a good doctor on call?
