Hotel de Dream

Reviewed by Edmund White

“Hotel de Dream” by Edmund White. Oh my stars, this cover looks like it came straight out of a sepia-toned Instagram filter! It’s got that “olden days” vibe, where everyone probably spoke in fancy accents and wore hats even when it wasn’t sunny. Look at those horse-drawn carriages! Makes me think of a time when the biggest traffic jam was a couple of horses trying to figure out who goes first. Honestly, if this book’s content is as dreamy as the title suggests, I hope there’s a bit more excitement inside than this quiet, rainy day cover implies.

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Summary: A nostalgic and dreamy cover that transports you to a simpler, quieter time. Perfect for fans of historical New York settings!
