“The Serpent of Venice” by Christopher Moore. A jester in a gondola under a big, creepy-looking moon. Seriously? A jester in Venice?
We’ve got a jester, a gondola, and a giant snake that’s somehow the bridge? Is this what passes for a normal night in Venice now? Christopher Moore’s name is so big, you’d think he was running for office. And “The Serpent of Venice”? Sounds like Shakespeare went on a bender and decided to write a crime thriller. I’m guessing this book is a wild mix of historical nonsense and absurd comedy. Perfect for anyone who thinks classic literature could use a bit more slapstick humor.
