Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle

Reviewed by Emily Nagoski

“Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle” by Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA. Man, I thought I knew stress from running my motorcycle gang, but this cover tells me there’s a whole other level. It’s all pink, which ain’t my usual color scheme, but hey, it’s bold. The word “burnout” looks like it’s melting off the page, which is kinda how I feel after a long ride and a few too many bar fights. And if these docs can help me unlock the stress cycle, maybe I can finally stop yelling at my bike. Plus, that Peggy Orenstein quote up top makes it sound like this book can make even the toughest folks cry—with gratitude! Guess I’m in for a wild ride, and not the kind I’m used to.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Summary: A cover that’s as bold as a biker, promising to tackle stress with science and a touch of pink.
