We liked this cover—though we have to admit, the image gives us anxiety. The girl nearly buried in emoji balls is definitely an eye-catcher, and the discomfort it stirs up feels intentional. The title is strong, but it’s the subtitle that really lands the punch: “How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness.” The phrase “rewiring of childhood” truly hooks us. It’s thought-provoking, a little ominous, and it immediately gets our thoughts spinning.
So yeah, we think this cover is very successful. It makes us uneasy—but also makes us want to open the book. Mission accomplished.
Based on the Cover, We Think This Book Is About…
A deep dive into how social media has basically swallowed today’s kids whole—and what we can do about it.
JABBIC NOTE: While the author clearly believes social media is warping young minds, we’re pretty sure he’d make an exception for sharing posts from JABBIC. Just saying.
