Clock Dance

Reviewed by Anne Tyler

Ah, “Clock Dance” by Anne Tyler. Look at this cover—it’s as serene and striking as a desert sunrise, but let me tell you, cacti can be deceptive little buggers. They look all calm and peaceful, but get too close, and you’ll find yourself in a prickly situation. Just like life, am I right?

The juxtaposition of this massive cactus against the sky reminds me of the time I tried to integrate a cactus into a Feng Shui setup. Spoiler: it didn’t end well for my chi or my fingers. I wonder if the story dances around the same themes of unexpected beauty and hidden dangers. Maybe it’s about finding inner peace without getting too close to the prickles of everyday stress.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Summary: A cover that beautifully blends serenity with a hint of caution—just like the desert.
