Great Circle

‘Great Circle’ by Maggie Shipstead. Well, isn’t this just a visual treat? We’ve got a plane flying precariously close to the sun. Who thought this was a good idea? It’s like they’re trying to make Icarus proud. And look at those clouds—fluffy and innocent, right? Wrong. They’re just waiting to engulf that tiny plane.

The title “Great Circle” sounds grand, but let’s be real, it’s probably a story about flying in circles, literally and metaphorically. And don’t even get me started on the color scheme. Orange and beige? Bold move. I guess it’s supposed to evoke a sense of adventure, but it just makes me think of outdated 70s decor.

If you’re into existential crises wrapped in a pseudo-adventure, this cover screams, “Buy me!” Just remember to pack a parachute.

Rating: ★★★☆☆ Summary: “Great Circle” promises an adventure that’s as risky as flying too close to the sun, with a cover that combines bold visuals and a touch of nostalgia. Ideal for those who enjoy existential reflections amidst daring escapades.
