Oh dear, what have I stumbled upon? “House Plants and Their F*cked-Up Thoughts” by Caryle Christoff and Elisabeth Saake, has me quite alarmed. The cover, with its lush greenery framed by a circle, initially seems inviting, but the title! It’s a stark contrast to the serene plant imagery and makes me wonder what dark secrets my own houseplants might be harboring. Am I neglecting them? Are they plotting against me as I sip my morning coffee? The subtitle, “P.S., They Hate You,” adds an extra layer of concern. As someone who likes to think of herself as nurturing, this cover has me both worried and intrigued. I might need to read this just to ensure my peace of mind…or perhaps, my plants’!
