JABBIC – Judge A Book By Its Cover

Lucy by the Sea

Lucy by the Sea

“Lucy by the Sea” by Elizabeth Strout has a cover that screams, “Hey, let’s go on a vacation, but maybe bring a sweater and some existential questions!” The dark, brooding waves and the bold, almost neon yellow text make it feel like a trip you take when you need to find yourself… or lose yourself in the process. As someone who desperately needs a vacation, I can’t help but think, “Can we choose a place with less emotional turbulence and more beach umbrellas?” This cover makes me ponder deep thoughts while craving a piña colada. It’s beautiful, intense, and a bit too introspective for my ideal getaway.

JABBIC Rating: ★★★★☆
