Murder in Paradise

Reviewed by James Patterson

‘Murder in Paradise’ by James Patterson. The cover shows a fancy yacht floating in what looks like the middle of nowhere. It’s called “Murder in Paradise,” but I’m guessing the real murder here is of originality. The big, bold letters scream, “Take me seriously!” but come on, we all know it’s another formulaic thriller.

And there’s that yellow sticker – “First Time in Print.” Wow, what an achievement. It’s like they’re trying to distract you from the fact that this is probably just another cookie-cutter plot. I mean, what’s the twist this time? The butler did it? The yacht captain has a secret twin?

If you like the idea of murder mysteries set in picturesque locations and don’t mind a recycled plot, then sure, this cover has got you covered. But if you’re looking for something new and exciting, you might want to set sail in another direction.

**Rating: ★★☆☆☆ Summary: “Murder in Paradise” promises a typical Patterson thriller with its bold cover and fancy yacht setting. Perfect for fans of formulaic murder mysteries, but likely lacking in originality.
