The Bad Weather Friend

Reviewed by Dean Koontz

‘The Bad Weather Friend’ by Dean Koontz. Oh, fantastic, another thriller with rain. Because nothing says suspense like a guy standing in the pouring rain with a red umbrella. I mean, what is he hiding from? The bad weather? And look at the title—so ominous, yet so vague. Is this friend bad because of the weather, or is the weather bad because of the friend?

The cover practically screams, “I’m dark and mysterious,” with its gloomy colors and spooky old building. And Dean Koontz—of course, because the world needs more books by authors who never run out of creepy ideas. Is there some unwritten rule that all Koontz covers must have a brooding figure and dark, stormy skies? Probably.

Rating: ★★★☆☆ Summary: “The Bad Weather Friend” promises yet another dark, rainy thriller from Dean Koontz. If you’re into standing dramatically in the rain and vague ominousness, this book’s cover assures you’re in for more of the same. Enjoy, if that’s your thing.
