The Interpretation of Dreams

Reviewed by Sigmund Freud

‘The Interpretation of Dreams’ by Sigmund Freud. First off, the guy’s face is right there on the cover, staring at you like he’s about to tell you everything that’s wrong with your life. And the gold lettering – I mean, really, it’s like they want you to think this book is some kind of holy text. ‘Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.’ Sure, fine, but what if my vulnerabilities are reading books with pretentious covers? This thing looks like it belongs in a museum, not on a nightstand. If you’re into delving deep into your subconscious and want to feel fancy while doing it, this book’s cover has got you covered. Just don’t blame me when you start dreaming about cigar-smoking therapists.”
