The Princess and the Handmaiden

Reviewed by Gina LoPresto

‘The Princess and the Handmaiden’ by Gina LoPresto. Oh, great, another fairy tale. A castle floating on a cloud. I’m already skeptical. Who lives up there? Are they going to fall off? What’s with the color scheme? It’s like someone just threw all the shades of pink and purple they could find and called it a day.

And the title? “The Princess and the Handmaiden.” I can already see where this is going – some royal drama about class differences and friendship. Nothing new here, folks. But hey, if you’re into fairy tales with a heavy dose of whimsy and pastel overload, this might be your thing.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ Summary: “The Princess and the Handmaiden” presents a fantastical cover with a floating castle and a dreamy color palette. Ideal for those who love whimsical fairy tales, but it’s not offering anything groundbreaking.
