“Those Empty Eyes” by Charlie Donlea — oy gevalt! Talk about a title that grabs you by the kishkes! The cover is a visual cacophony of white strands and splatters of blood, making me wonder if I should be worried about the protagonist or schedule an eye exam. The orange text practically screams at you, and combined with the dark and tangled background, it’s a real meshuggeneh scene. Charlie Donlea certainly knows how to set the stage for a thriller. It’s as if he’s saying, “Don’t even think about blinking, you might miss something!”
Rating: ★★★★☆ Summary: A striking and chaotic cover that promises a suspenseful and gripping read.
